Education Financial Planning in Asia: Implementing Medium-Term Expenditure Frameworks

19.10.2009

A series of e-publications from "Education Financial Planning in Asia".

The Education Financial Planning in Asia series comprises six country case studies – Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Viet Nam, Nepal and Tajikistan.

The studies deal with a medium-term expenditure framework (MTEF) in the education sector which aims at strengthening the link between policy, planning and budgeting.  As many countries in Asia have introduced or are planning to introduce MTEFs, but no study had been conducted to document the experiences. The case studies conducted in the four contries aim to address this knowledge gap.

These publications provide real examples and practical information from which planners and policy makers in other countries can learn experiences and lessons on education financial planning and MTEF.

Additional studies on Cambodia, Indonesia and Singapore are under review.
