How Can We Ensure Quality, Not Just ‘Quantity’ in Asia-Pacific Education? Conference to Spotlight Innovations

BANGKOK, 20 SEPTEMBER – Access to education in Asia-Pacific has expanded rapidly in recent decades; however, too often education quality has failed to keep pace. This is one of the main challenges facing us as we embark on the Education 2030 agenda, as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 4, to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

An upcoming UNESCO conference brings together top experts in the education field and related stakeholders to share innovative practices, present research and collaborate in identifying obstacles to achieving inclusive and quality education by 2030.

WHO: Eminent speakers, policy-makers, researchers, educators, parents, students, as well as representatives from international organizations, local communities and the private sector from throughout the Asia-Pacific region will gather for the event.

Among the event’s highlights will be the Raja Roy Singh keynote lecture, which will be delivered by Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, the award-winning author of The Great Convergence, among other works, and a prominent geopolitical analyst.
