National statisticians will meet to improve data plans for international education data reporting
19.09.2011On 27-30 June 2011, national statisticians from will meet at the Regional Workshop on National Data Plans: Reporting quality international education data in Bangkok. The following countries have been invited based on having undertaken data planning exercises since 2008: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Nepal and Timor-Leste.
The workshop is designed to discuss, review and evaluate the UNESCO Institute for Statistics' (UIS) technical visits in the concerned countries and working modalities with national teams in the preparation and effective use of the data plan for international data reporting. Good practices, lessons learned from data plan experiences will be used to further improve UIS work in countries and the data plan methodology. The workshop will provide the opportunity for country representatives and UIS staff to share their experiences focusing on strengths, areas of improvement and recommendations for other countries that will undertake this data plan exercise.
