EFA Goal 6: Quality Education (Asia-Pacific End of Decade Notes on Education for All)

14.01.2013

The Asia-Pacific End of Decade Note on Education for All: Goal 6 – Quality Education covers EFA goal 6: “Improving all aspects of the quality of education and ensuring excellence of all so that recognized and measurable learning outcomes are achieved by all, especially in literacy, numeracy and essential life skills.”

The Asia-Pacific End of Decade Notes (EDN) present a review of regional and national progress toward the six EFA goals, take stock of the progress, persisting issues and remaining challenges in achieving the goals, and highlight examples of innovative policy reforms and strategies, particularly those aimed at reducing disparities in access to and quality of education. The EDN also emphasize the policy, capacity and governance gaps to be addressed in order to achieve EFA goals in the region. The six reports build on the findings of the Asia-Pacific EFA Mid-Decade Assessment (2006–2008), which examined EFA progress and gaps at the mid-way point of the 2000–2010 decade.
