Focus on secondary education: the next great challenge
The UNESCO Institute for Statistics' Global Education Digest (GED) 2011 reports that governments are struggling to meet the rising demand for secondary education. At the same time, demand for secondary education is expanding and views about its role are changing.
This edition of the GED provides an overview of the status of secondary education with regard to access, equity, quality and financing. New indicators developed by the UIS, which help to inform policy debates are also presented.
