Awards Ceremony for a Drawing and Essay Competition to Mark International Day for Eradication of Poverty, 16 October 2009

Students, parents, teachers, and other participants brainstorm how to eradicate poverty by cataloguing ideas on a banner.

Students engage in activities arranged to raise poverty-awareness.

A primary school student is asked to contemplate the “difficulties” in her life.

A mural containing illustrations depicts each contestant’s idea of “poverty”.

Not all entrants received awards, but at the end of the day, it is the children are the winners.

The winning illustration from pathom five student, Thitiwan Sajakaew, entitled “Hand-in-Hand”.

“Help from those above”, is the title of the second place illustration by pathom six student, Rithikrai Donlakornkwa.

Pathom six student Nalinpart Wiriyathanawong came third in the competition.
