UNESCO Announces the Winners of the 2002 Asia-Pacific Heritage Conservation Awards
Bangkok, 19 September 2002 – The UNESCO Regional Advisor for Culture in Asia and the Pacific announced today that Ahhichatragarh – Fort of Nagaur, in Nagaur, Rajasthan, India has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in the UNESCO 2002 Asia Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation. The two Awards of Distinction went to The Australian Hall in Sydney, Australia and Yarikutz, Rupikutz, Kuyokutz, Mamorukutz Mosques, Ganish Historic Settlement in Central Hunza, Pakistan. Five Awards of Merit and five Honourable Mention Awards were also announced today.
