Winners Announced for the 2006 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation and the 2006 UNESCO Heritage Award Jury Commendation for Innovation
Bangkok, 1 September 2006 – Shigar Fort Palace in Skardu, Northern Areas, Pakistan has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in the 2006 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
The two Awards of Distinction went to Bund 18, Shanghai, China and Uch Monument Complex, Punjab, Pakistan. Three Awards of Merit and three Honourable Mentions were also announced.
As for the Heritage Awards Jury Commendation for Innovation, no commendations were awarded this year.
