- Pacific E-Learning Observatory
The Kingdom of Tonga has been involved with educational ICT since the creation of the Community Development and Training Centre (CDTC) in the 1970s. An overarching goal is to foster a large enough ICT workforce that businesses, institutions and organizations will find it easier to use ICT solutions to develop and participate in the information society.

The Government of the Kingdom of Tonga convened the "National ICT Strategic Planning Workshop" to bring together stakeholders from government ministries, civil society, the education sector and the private sector for a week of discussion and planning on the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Tongan life, schools and universities. - Tonga Harnesses ICT for Community Education and Poverty Alleviation
The programmes report on the progress made towards improving living standards in each of the island groups that make up the Kingdom of Tonga and offer alternatives to the Government, NGOs, and Tongans for poverty reduction.
