About AIPN

Asia Pacific Information Network (APIN) is a network founded in 2002, formed by merging the Regional Network for the Exchange of Information and Experiences (ASTINFO), the Regional Informatics Network for Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RINSEAP) and the Regional Informatics Network for South and Central Asia (RINSCA).
APIN, linked with UNESCO's Information for All Programme (IFAP), focus on, but not limited to, two areas of IFAP strategic plan (2008-13) -- Information accessibility and Information literacy; meanwhile it promotes ICT literacy and application, information and knowledge networking, sharing of information resources, and use of international standards and best practices in communication, information and informatics.

To be an authoritative and comprehensive information hub in the emerging knowledge society, with active participation and contribution by all member countries.
- Mission
Strengthen and empower APIN member countries to play an effective role as gateways to ensure provision of and access to information and knowledge resources.
- Member Countries
At the end of 2010, the network has 19 members covering Bhutan, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, DRP of Korea, Republic of Korea, Lao PRD, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
