First Statutory Meeting of (APIN) was held from 11-13 December 2002 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was attended by 16 National APIN Unit representatives nominated by the UNESCO National Commissions and 2 observers. Participants discussed about the constitution and the objectives of APIN, and recognized APIN as guided by the five areas of the UNESCO Information for All Programme.
