Venue and Accommodation
The Jodhpur Symposium was hosted by H.H. the Maharaja of Marwar-Jodhpur at his family’s ancestral Ahhichatragarh Fort Palace, a listed heritage building located in the town of Nagaur, in the Jodhpur district of the state of Rajasthan. The restoration of the Ahhichatragarh Fort Palace has received an award from the Getty Foundation, as well as the Award of Excellence in the 2002 UNESCO Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
The Symposium and all of the evening events were held in the grounds of this historic Fort Palace. The programme included several Rajasthan cultural performances.
Participants were accommodated in a Royal Tented Camp. The tents (each with verandah, bedroom and bathroom) were of innovative design and demonstrated the crafts of Rajasthan.
