- InfoDev: ICT and Education in the Pacific
The small island developing states of the Pacific face many challenges to their education systems -- and their ability to utilize ICTs to help address many of these challenges -- related to their small size, economic resources, geographic remoteness, population migrations, and environmental issues. - Distance Learning using VSATs in the Solomon Islands
In 2004, a project was initiated to provide distance learning centers in the Solomon Islands. This project, established under the EU education sector programme, was initiated following trials using email in 2002. The trials were judged to have improved turnaround and tutor-student communications, but suggested that a larger project would need better connectivity. - ICT-Based Inclusive Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Pacific
Network Strategies Limited was engaged by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in conjunction with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), to undertake a study of potential ICT interventions for inclusive growth and poverty reduction in the Pacific
