  • Project: The Sao Mai Computer Centre for the Blind
    The Sao Mai Computer Centre was established in Ho Chi Minh City to promote the use of information technology in educational and vocational training for disabled students and provide avenues for blind Vietnamese to explore social and cultural activities through the Internet.
  • Strategic Plan for the Period 2010 – 2020
    The University of Education, Vietnam National University in Hanoi has developed its strategic plan considering the new context of the country’s and international socio economic development. As a university member within Vietnam National University (VNU), the University of Education follows the development directions of VNU in its strategic plan.

  • Educational ICT Pilot Initiative: Viet Nam The World Economic Forum’s Digital Divide Task Force
    is proposing three Forum initiatives to be piloted in Viet Nam. The goal of each is to extend Internet access for students into remote, rural schools that will not otherwise become connected for several years. Each seeks to develop and test new collaborative business models that are sustainable, scalable, and could be rolled-out to other countries in Asia.  
     
  • Coca-Cola Learning Centres in Viet Nam
    Providing a dynamic environment in which Vietnamese youth can extend their education through IT access and tools, Coca-Cola, in partnership with Vietnam's Ministry of Education-Training and the National Youth Union has set up an inter-linked network of learning centres in secondary schools and youth centres across Vietnam. Covering 33 provinces and cities and benefiting an estimated 10,000 students and their teachers, 40 centres have so far been built.

  • Paper: ICT education in Vietnam: Diving into the Second Wave
    This paper will describe the conduct of a Masters course in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in a Vietnamese university. Engaging higher degree students in Masters level programs in the use of ICT in teaching and learning would appear to be diving directly into the "second wave," bypassing the potentially constraining experiences of the "first wave."

  • Article: Strategy for the Development of Vietnam’s ICT from 2010- 2020
    October, 6th 2005, the Prime Minister made a decision approving the “Strategy for Development of Vietnam’s Information and Communication Technology toward 2010 and Orientations toward 2020.” This important decision determined the objectives, and directions for Vietnam and ICT in Education for 2010 and beyond. 

  • News: ICTs to Revolutionize Education System in Vietnam
    The e-learning initiative by Ministry of Education and Training aims to modernize Vietnam’s education system by 2011 and to provide opportunities for the country’s teachers and students – especially those in remote and rural areas. The Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam and Viettel are collaborating on a project which will allow 39,000 kindergartens, secondary and high schools to have free access to the Internet.

  • Report: Internet Based Distance Education: A Case Study on Vietnam
    This is a report of the role of Distance education (DE) in enhancing education and training in developing countries. As countries compete in an ever more challenging international marketplace, they recognize the need to continually train and upgrade their citizenry. As national leaders struggle to cope with increasing populations and decreasing budgets, DE can be an additional and often essential tool in accomplishing this goal.

  • Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme: Report on Viet Nam
    The approximately 200 universities, colleges, professional and vocational training schools in Vietnam, and most of the high schools, are equipped with computers. So too are many secondary and primary schools. According to statistics, around 70 percent of universities are connected to the Internet, while 29 percent have their own websites.
