Viet Nam is located in the southeastern extremity of the Indochinese peninsula. It shares borders with the Gulf of Thailand, the Gulf of Tonkin, and South China Sea as well as China, Laos and Cambodia. With an estimated population of 90.0 million as of 2011, it is the 14th largest country in the world in terms of population and the fourth largest in South-East Asia. Viet Nam is a country of tropical lowlands, hills and densely forested highlands. Along the coastline, from the North to the South, Viet Nam has many beautiful beaches. Among them Ha Long Bay, with more than 3000 islands, that is listed by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site.
